Boekanier

A sturdy, beautiful ship, with a hospitable crew. That is the two-masted clipper Boekanier. Once on board you immediately feel the atmosphere. The exterior is authentic, the interior spacious and cozy. The galley - kitchen, for landlubbers - is open, so that you are always in contact with each other. The floor is a real eye-catcher and is therefore lovingly maintained.

Sailing together
You have no experience with sailing? No problem at all! Enthusiastic sailor Ramses will tell you everything you need to know and seems to be everywhere at once. Together you hoist the mighty sails. Soon you will understand what a sheet is and what to do when the sound over the deck is 'the jib up'! Meanwhile, skipper Joop navigates you to the most beautiful places and ports.

Skipper: Joop Bosshardt

Meet Joop

Cook and waiter, that was his first profession. After a number of years working in restaurants and hotels,  he changed direction and opted for orthopedagogy. In the meantime, he got acquainted with sailing at a sailing camp. It was love at first sight and soon he became a sailing instructor during the summer vacations. It is therefore not surprising that he incorporated sailing into his thesis. He developed 'Sailing Treatment', for kids from a closed ward. This actually got off the ground, and proved a resounding success. The young people grew on board and could experience that they actually accomplish something. 30 years ago, Joop bought the Boekanier, which he renovated with care. In between he bought a second ship, which he used to sail all over Europe. Now only the Boekanier is his world.

'Sailing is everything to me. I love the freedom and the complete silence. I also enjoy the fun people have, for example when they go mudflat hiking. I want people to have a nice trip with us and I am very happy with my team. We arrange everything together. I still like to cook. At some sailing races I dive into the kitchen myself. My pancakes are famous. I am happy with my wife Fenny, who has sailed halfway around the world herself. She works with me and enjoys it. We both do. We know from experience how important hospitality is. Cheerful, nothing too much trouble, having fun together. Meanwhile, we have everything under control on board. Our guests feel that.'
