ITGWO 2026 - overnight stay

At the end of August, Vlieland once again turns into one big stage during Into The Great Wide Open. For four days, the island is filled with music, art, film and great food at what might be the most beautiful festival location in the Netherlands: right in the dunes, the forest and the village, with the sea always close by. Intimate, distinctive and relaxed.

A weekend like this is not something you want to interrupt with a long journey back to the mainland. That’s why the Boekanier remains moored on Vlieland during the festival as a comfortable place to sleep for festival visitors. You’ll stay on board this atmospheric historic ship, within walking distance of the heart of the festival. No pitching tents, no hauling gear — just a proper bed, a peaceful place to unwind, and waking up in the morning surrounded by island life.

During the day you wander past performances, art installations and food trucks; in the evening, after the final concert, you step straight into your cabin. The Boekanier is neither a hotel nor a campsite, but something in between: small-scale, welcoming and perfectly in tune with the spirit of Into The Great Wide Open.
