The Orion is a robust sea tjalk, built in 1892. The Orion has been sailed for over ten years by her current owner, who works together with two regular mates. A lovely ship with a strong crew! The Orion combines sailing history with modern day comfort. The ambiance is nautic, both on deck as in the cosy saloon and the cabins. Authentic characteristics are spared as much as possible. Both the skipper and his ship mates grew up with sailing and water sports in general. Their enthusiasm is catchy! Enjoy full speed!

"Watersports have run through my veins for as long as I can remember. After a long career as an IT architect, I decided to follow my true passion: following my maritime training at the Enkhuizen Nautical College, I am now proud to stand at the helm of this historic sea tjalk from 1892. The Orion combines rugged maritime heritage with comfortable sailing. Together with my crew, I love letting our guests experience the ship firsthand, hoisting the sails, and discovering the stunning waters of IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea."
