Eenhoorn

A sturdy clipper, an inspired skipper and comfortable two-person cabins: all the ingredients for a perfect sailing group accommodation. On the sturdy two-masted clipper Eenhoorn, built in 1903, you will experience true freedom. The entire IJsselmeer, Markermeer and Waddenzee are at your feet. Moreover, skipper Jan Willem, as a genuine Frisian, knows all the beautiful places in Friesland.

Sailing: action or relaxation?

Do you like to actively help sailing this impressive sailing ship? Then you can use your energy while hoisting the sails. But: nothing is mandatory. If you are more looking for relaxation, there are very nice spots in the spacious seating area or on deck for you. The rushing water, the endless horizon, the fresh air: let yourself be carried away by the rhythm of the wind and recharge your battery.

Unique group accommodation

On a day trip, you are welcome with up to 40 passengers. If you want to spend the night on board, there is room for 26 people in no fewer than 13 double cabins. As one of the few ships, the Eenhoorn has a combined shower/toilet between every two cabins, accessible from the cabins. The spacious saloon is very cozy and guarantees cosy and pleasant company. You can also relax in a corner with a book. The kitchen has everything your culinary heart desires. Even a professional beer tap installation is not lacking.

Carefree sailing

Besides fun, safety comes first on the Eenhoorn. The ship has a high railing, is well maintained and all safety equipment for adults and for children is available. The fact that skipper Jan Willem takes safety seriously while sailing is just as important. Everything for carefree sailing, for young and old!

Skipper: Jan Willem Zandstra

Owner and skipper Jan Willem is a Frisian at heart. Sailing was instilled in him at an early age. "Already at the age of seven I sailed in a small sailboat on the Frisian lakes and since then I have always continued to do so. In the vacations and on the weekends: always I could be found on the water".

After a career in construction and project development, Jan Willem decided in 2010 to fully devote himself to his passion, sailing. "It is the combination of building relationships with my guests and sailing that makes this profession so powerfully interesting".

Jan Willem wants his guests to enjoy the free feeling that sailing gives you. "Hoisting the sails together. The pristine nature of the wide water. Visiting the beautiful harbors. Enjoying nature." Sounds good, right?
