Seaworthy, sailing pleasure and serenity. That describes this cotter that belongs to a beautiful family business. She has made many spectacular sailing trips in Europe. From April to October, this beautiful ship sails on the East Sea. Outside this season she can be found in the atmospheric Veerhaven in Rotterdam. You can rent the Catherina for shorter or longer trips, training events and sleeping accommodation without sailing.
Remarkable history
All our ships have special stories because of their age. This is the story of the Catherina. She was built in 1920 for the German navy as a coast guard cutter with extra sails and a mine hunter. The hull of the ship was originally made of wood on steel. In 1955 the ship was lengthened in Belgium and the wooden hull was replaced by steel. Until 1982, the ship operated as a fishing boat, but since 1985 it is used as a training ship because of its excellent sailing properties.
