Nieuwe Zorg
Nostalgia with modern day comfort, cosy, with an amazing kitchen. That describes the Nieuwe Zorg (in English: the New Care). It’s a Dutch tjalk, that was built in 1896. As a guest, you will experience bygone times. This is quite remarkable given that the ship also offers all the modern facilities you could wish for. For example, you can cook your heart out on the professional stove.
Old and new
The ship was originally built as a freighter and has transported many goods such as peat, bricks and wood. Around 1950 she was reconstructed to be a houseboat. Later in the 70s the ship acquired her current function. An amazing transformation. Sail along and experience it yourself.

“I am the skipper and owner of the Nieuwe Zorg. Every season a new shipmate sales along. Usually this is a kind youngster that wants to do something different for a season or is interested in a future in sailing.
Also the caterers are not employees. They are recruited from a pool of experienced people that are available for several ships.”
