Linquenda

Fat but still elegant, comfortable and unique. That describes the Linquenda, built in 1916. The name ‘Linquenda’ means ‘One day I must leave you’: a promise that the ship would last longer than the owner. Until now, this always has been the case. Once a freighter, now a remarkable group accommodation. The skipper quotes: “the perfect spot for a fresh view on life”.

Rent the Linquenda

Skipper: Jan Dooyes

Meet Jan

“Since 1985 I am totally hooked on sailing flat bottom boats. Already in high scool I took people sailing on small boats. And now bigger and more and more often… Sailing makes me happy. Sailing, and of course my daughter and my wife. Nature, wet nature in particular, fascinates me. The space on the lake and the sea make me feel peaceful and full of desire. I want to share that feeling.

Show people the best spots and have them experience it. I hope that they discover for themselves the greatness of nature and the urgency to preserve it.

In order to do so I bought the lovely broad tjalk Linquenda. The ship feels good, steady and trustworthy. She was built in 1969 and is one of the youngest ships of her kind. With her I have reached my destiny for now. I gladly share her with anyone that comes aboard.”
