Lauwerszee
A clipper with nostalgic ambience and modern comfort, run by a devoted skipper. That’s the historical sailing ship Lauwerszee, that sails the lovely Wadden Sea and IJssel lake with her guests. It’s a comfortable clipper with excellent sailing qualities. The stability is high, so you don’t have to be afraid to get seasick on this broad, spacious ship.
Fully equipped
It’s amazing to see how a classical ship that used to transport freight is so fully equipped. The ship has an open galley with two fridges, a freezer, dish washer, professional coffee maker, a stove with six gas pits and a big electrical oven, and a beer tap. All cabins have central heating, a large sink and beds with quilts and pillows. There’s two showers and two toilets.
Sail or relax
You don’t have to have experience in sailing. You can choose to help sail the ship or relax in the sun. There’s a tent available that can roof the deck, to protect you against rain or sun.

“After years of sailing professionally on several sailing ships, I became the proud owner and skipper of the Lauwerszee in 2012. I live in the deckhouse of the ship all year. That’s the skippers house in the back of the ship.
I have lots of experience in sailing large sailing ships. And of course I know Lake IJssel and the Wadden like the back of one’s hand. I love to show you around on board and plan a fun trip together. With joy I take you to the most beautiful spots. My goal is to bring you an unforgettable stay on board. You can help sail the ship if you like, but it’s not required. Do you want to sail actively, we will maximize the sailing activities. Do you prefer to take it easy, my crew can also sail without your help."
