The Pelikaan (in English: the Pelican) is a magnificent appearance on Lake IJssel. The tjalk was built in 1908, but that doesn’t show! The ship is beautifully lined and has a luxurious look and feel thanx to the teak sitting area and mahogany interor. A ship to fall in love with!
The trump card of the Pelikaan
The spacious sitting area on the back end of the ship is the trump card of the Pelikaan. Here you are safe and comfortable, with an amazing view on the decks and the sailing. Moreover, you are seated with the skipper. Who can tell lots of stories about sailing and loves to explain what he does and why. It’s easy then to step behind the helm yourself. The Pelikaan is sportively rigged; the sails are easy to manage and increasing the speed is no problem!
To relax
Once moored in one one of the beautiful harbours of Lake IJssel, the sitting are is the place to be for a nice drink or barbeque. But of course you also can easily back away on the front deck. The saloon is the place to catch your breath from the activities outside. There are two cosy sitting corners with comfortable sofa’s. And there’s a small but well equipped galley.
The Pelikaan has 12 beds, divided over six luxurious 2-person cabins. All beds are at least two meters long and are already made when you arrive. Because of its luxurious appearance, the Pelikaan is also very suitable for business events, like a training or a trip with relations.
