Antonius
Thoroughly restored, rustic and authentic. That’s the Antonius, a clipper that was built in 1898. Many clippers were destroyed in the course of time, to make room for modern, fast motorised vessels. Fortunately, some of these old sailing ships have been preserved and restored to their ancient glory, like the Antonius. A remarkable idea, that this beautiful ship used to transfer turf. Now she is used as a comfortable passenger ship, where guests can feel the sense of a time long past.
Restorations
In 1982, the ship was fully restored, retaining the original features and transformed into a passenger vessel. In 1994, a second thorough restoration took place in which a full range of sanitary facilities were placed.

Carool van de Bilt
Meet Carool
“I was born in Kockengen in 1964. My father used to have a shipyard, so I grew up with water and boats. I chose for an education at a horticultural college. However, I soon realised that sailing is my true passion. Since 1983 I worked as a captain on several ships, until I bought the Antonius.
It’s very important to me that my guests have a good time. That’s why we always decide the route and destination of the cruise together. Of course, we have to take the duration of the trip and the weather into consideration. If you choose to travel with my beautiful ship, I gladly welcome you on board.
Kind regards and hope to see you!”
